Nina Munteanu novelette just released

Nina Munteanu's novelette, "The Cypol", a sensual SF thriller published by eXtasy Books (ISBN: 1-55410-743-1) was just released (November, 2006) and can be purchased here.

Nina has also just signed on with Dragon Moon Press, a Canadian publisher, who will publish her SF eco-techno thriller Darwin's Paradox in 2007/2008.

Nina frequently reviews SF books and movies in Strange Horizons and Gotta Write Network.

Joe Mahoney blogging about the written word for CBC

Joe Mahoney is now co-penning the Words@Large blog for CBC. Says Joe, "I'm writing it with Kimberly Walsh, who's based in Halifax. Our mandate is to write about the written word in all its myriad facets. Kimberly has a more literary bent; myself, I'll be tackling the written word as it relates to radio production, in particular radio drama, but rest assured I'll also be placing a strong emphasis on the world of speculative fiction."

Karl Schroeder joins WorldChanging.com blogging team

Karl Schroeder has joined the blogging team at WorldChanging.com, as part of their new Canadian site.

WorldChanging receives more than half a million readers per month. The site focuses on real-world solutions to the sorts of problems that the media and much of the public believe are intractible. Says Karl, "My interests are extremely wide-ranging, so my postings will be as well. I'll be doing more short fiction pieces like the story 'Community' that I had on the main site a month ago; but I'll also be talking about everything from technology convergence to maritime law. My first posting is up already, and is about the human security movement in international affairs."

Holly Phillips fantasy novel sells to Del Rey

Sunburst Award winner Holly Phillips reports that Jim Minz, an editor at Del Rey, has acquired her fantasy novel Engine's Child, with a tentative publication date of Spring 2008.
