Lynda Williams story in Mythspring anthology

Lynda Williams, author of the Okal Rel Universe series published by Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy, says she was thrilled to appear with many of Canada's best SF writers in the Mythspring anthology, edited by Julie E. Czerneda and Genevieve Kierans. Lynda says her story, "The Harpy," was inspired by the poem of the same name by Robert Service. The anthology aims to illustrate how Canadian lyrics and legends make good raw material for fantastic tales.

Lynda also appeared in the April 2006 edition of Deep Magic magazine with a short essay entitle "Books in the Digital Era". The essay was
prompted by a casual assumption on the part of a researcher in gaming development that all narrative forms would succumb to the powerful attraction of the gaming paradigm in the near future.

Since the Okal Rel Universe featured in the Edge series is Lynda's first love, she is particularly pleased to announce that the international online journal FutureFire published her Okal Rel Universe story "Making History" in issue 2006.05. Illustrated by Futurefire, "Making History" is a look behind the scenes at the origins of the Reetion political system based on incorruptible AIs that is featured in the novel series.
