Cory Doctorow novel on preliminary Nebula ballot

Cory Doctorow's novel Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom (Tor) is on the Preliminary Ballot for the 2004 Nebula Awards®. Other novels on the preliminary ballot are Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold (Eos), Omega by Jack McDevitt (Ace), Perfect Circle by Sean Stewart (Small Beer Press), Conquistador by S.M. Stirling (Roc) and The Knight by Gene Wolfe (Tor).

The Nebula Awards® are voted on, and presented by, active members of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc. The prelimnary ballot will be mailed to all active SFWA members (of which there are more than 1,400). Each member may nominate no more than five works in each category on the preliminary ballot. The final ballot will then be drawn up and mailed February 15. The Awards will be announced at the Nebula Awards® Banquet to be held at the Allegro Hotel in the heart of Chicago's Loop Theater District on Saturday, April 30.

Cory is also on the cover of (and interviewed inside) Locus Magazine this month, along with Charles Stross.
